“The Past is never dead, it’s not even past”

“The Past is never dead, it’s not even past”

What does this quote mean to you?

I think this quote means that the past can’t just die off for the reason that it can’t be forgotten easily. In my opinion, the second part means it will forever be remembered and can’t just be erased off your mind whether it’s good or bad.

How does this connect to the wave?

I think this connects to the wave as what have happened ages ago when Adolf Hitler was abusing his power and what Ben Ross is doing to his students in class. It’s repeating itself. They are both misusing their power to control people.

How does this connect to American History?

I guess it shows that history repeats itself as they keep having war for the same reason.

The Wave Questions

Have you ever been forced to join something against your will?
Yes, I have been forced to learn piano. It’s quite an interesting music instrument, but I just don’t enjoy it. After learning it for 6 months, I finally stopped. I just can’t sit still for that long; I rather go outdoors and play some sports.

How should we behave if we see someone being taunted or bullied by a group of people?
In my opinion, we should really try our best to help other people out. If we see people getting bullied, we should ask the person/group that is harassing other people why they’re disturbing people and try to get an adult to help solve it.

Should we try to get involved?
It depends, if there’s a person who is really vulnerable and can’t defend him/herself, we should try to help him/her but don’t get too in-depth in the fight. However, it’s best to avoid fights, as most fights are avoidable.

A Sudden Change

School today was very heartbreaking for all of the 8th grade kids as we all heard an awful news about one of the 8th grade teachers. We were told Mr R resigned. He was a great teacher who taught us nothing but life knowledge, which is the most important thing in life. Even though he could be boring at times, he was still one of my favorite teachers. He knew a lot about technology, which often times made the class more interesting. However, he has resigned and we all miss him very much. ☹

All the best to him.

Feb. 26 - Mar. 4

This week in class, we talked about learning out of school, people who thinks that school is where you learn the least, and our poems we wrote about laborers. When Mr. R said we learn the least in school, I was really astounded. In my mind, I was really wondering why he’s a teacher knowing we don’t learn much in school.

I learned that the Internet does much more than we know. I learned about the RSS reader, a program that informs us who updated their blogs. The RSS reader is a really helpful program.

There wasn’t anything I wanted to say.

I daydreamed about playing tennis over the weekend at Khalifa International Tennis Complex.

Power Corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

“Power Corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

I certainly agree with the quote above. Simply because, when power is given in abundance, people tend to abuse it. People use it to harm and threaten others. Even though most police saves citizens, some police in certain countries abuse their power by expecting citizens to bribe them instead of pay fines. However, I believe the police are influenced by the government, who has the most authority, as they just take the tax money that is actually meant to help the country.

Today in class…21/Feb/2008

Filed under: This Week in Class — kenny1811 @ 2:45 am and

Today in class, we talked about why we write, our blog and read a poem called “Thoughts from Within”. We learned about Monsanto and Dupont. We also learned that if u can’t rhyme poems well, don’t rhyme it because you will ruin the poem. We write to express, reflect, communicate, and entertain. Besides that, we also learned that companies are adding chemicals to food to increase the growth of foods and could harm us. I did not daydream about anything during class. I paid full attention throughout class. There was nothing much I wanted to say in class.
